The ultimate goal of municipal government is to provide services that
contribute to the quality of life of all Sandy residents and business owners
at the most reasonable cost. Not only is quality-of-life about providing for one's self and family it encompasses spending time with family and friends in activities they value and enjoy.
Quality-of-life is also about personal and community relationships, creative expression, arts and recreation, leisure time and safety. Citizens should have a fair and equal opportunity to help determine their quality of life according to individual and family needs and priorities — not solely by big business focused on the bottom line.
Quality of life is the ultimate balancing act that both city leaders and citizens must have a vested interest in maintaining. We must work together as citizens, business owners and leaders, realizing we all have a stewardship to make Sandy a desirable place to work and live.
